Daegu is Korea's school-drama capital on this site: Keimyung University's red-brick Daemyung campus and two working high schools stood in for Teach You a Lesson's classrooms, while the hanok compound of Gyemyeong Hanhakchon played Ae-shin's English school in Mr. Sunshine. Add the city's retro alleys — the Kim Kwang-seok mural street and modern-history lanes — and it makes an easy, subway-friendly day. KTX from Seoul to Dongdaegu takes about 1 hour 40 minutes.
