Dramas filmed at Dae Jang Geum Park

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty

The royal kitchen cooking-battle scenes were filmed among the park's palace sets.

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

Goryeo palace scenes throughout the series.

Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum)

The park's namesake — the 2003 classic that established it.

Visiting tips

This is a working film set, not a museum: shoots happen on random weekdays, and stumbling into one — actors in full Joseon costume between takes — is half the fun. Sets are dressed and re-dressed constantly, so the park looks slightly different every visit.

Hanbok rental is available at the entrance, and the park is far less crowded than Seoul’s palaces — you can often get long empty-courtyard shots impossible at Gyeongbokgung.

Getting there honestly

Public transit works but eats the day; if you’re not renting a car, look for a sageuk day tour that pairs the park with the Korean Folk Village (another drama staple 40 minutes away, also in Yongin).
