Jeju Province and its tourism board identify specific filming sites. This guide separates those from nearby stops and explains the Andong village set and Gochang canola-field shoot.
Jeju-mok Government Office, Gimnyeong Beach and Seongsan Ilchulbong have official filming support evidence. Seongeup has an official drama photo zone, but its childhood-scene claim is unverified. Hyeopjae and Seopjikoji are scenic add-ons without confirmed filming. By bus, choose two or three stops in one area.
💡 Be aware of what this is: Hyeopjae appears in round-up lists of Jeju spots to visit off the back of the drama, not in the province's filming-location release or the tourism board's episode-by-episode guide, and no source names a scene here. We keep it listed because it is a genuinely good beach an hour from the city — not because we can show it was filmed at. Stay for sunset over Biyangdo.
4Seopjikoji (not a confirmed location)
Filming evidence: Nearby stop, filming unverified
The coastal cape walk to the lighthouse, ten minutes from Seongsan Ilchulbong. Fan posts disagree about which scene was shot here, and the official lists do not include it at all.

Easiest paired with Seongsan Ilchulbong — 10 minutes by taxi between the two.
💡 Jeju tourism lists Seopjikoji as somewhere to go near Seongsan Ilchulbong, not as a filming location, and the fan posts that do claim it cannot agree on the scene. Treat it as a good walk next to a real location rather than one itself.
💡 Admission ₩1,500 adults, ₩800 teens and soldiers, ₩400 children; free for under-7s, over-65s and Jeju residents. Open 09:00-18:00 with last entry 17:30, every day of the year. From May to October it also opens at night, 18:00-21:00 and free, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Pair with Dongmun Traditional Market next door for lunch.
6Seongeup Folk Village

A lived-in heritage village with an official drama photo zone. Which scene, if any, was filmed here remains unverified.

Bus 221/222 from Jeju City toward Pyoseon; about 50 minutes.
💡 Free to enter, always open, and a real lived-in village rather than a set — residents still live in the thatched homes, so visit quietly. Free guided tours run 10:00-17:00. One warning: some houses signed as part of the village are privately run shops, and 2026 visitors describe a house tour ending in a sales pitch for health products. The province states plainly that its own guides never sell anything, so if a talk turns into a shop, that is not an official one.

Only four Jeju locations are officially confirmed
Jeju province put out a release on 13 March 2025 naming the places it supported the production at: Jeju-mok Government Office, Seongsan Ilchulbong, Gimnyeong Beach and the Ora-dong buckwheat fields. The province spent about fourteen months arranging access and paid the producers a ₩50m incentive. The tourism board's Visit Jeju site then published an episode-by-episode list that adds Geumneung harbour, Songaksan, Gunsan oreum and around a dozen more. Other places may have been used, but we do not call them confirmed without reliable scene-level evidence.
Two of the beaches everyone lists are not on either list
Hyeopjae appears in newspaper round-ups of 'places to visit because of the drama' with no scene attached, and Seopjikoji is listed by Visit Jeju as a recommended stop near Seongsan Ilchulbong, not as a location. The fan posts claiming Seopjikoji cannot agree on whether it was the labour scene or the parting scene. Both are worth your time as places. Neither is evidence of filming.
The village and the canola field are not in Jeju at all
Ae-sun and Gwan-sik's village is an outdoor set in Andong, North Gyeongsang. The canola field of the opening was shot at a farm in Gochang, North Jeolla. The sea in some sequences is CG. This is from national press in March 2025, and it is the single most useful thing to know before booking a trip built around the show.
Photo zones exist, at four places
The tourism board installed them in July 2025 at Jeju-mok Government Office, Gimnyeong Beach, Seongeup Folk Village and Seongsan Ilchulbong. We could only confirm one still standing in 2026, at Seongeup. The province also announced plans for location signboards in March 2025; we found no report of any actually going up in Jeju.
Buses connect it, but nobody has done three in a day
Each leg works: airport to Seongsan is 1h37m on the 111 express without changing, Seongsan to Seongeup 52 minutes, Seongeup to Jeju-mok about an hour. That is three hours of pure movement before any waiting, on routes running five to nineteen times a day. We found trip reports of people reaching these places by bus one at a time, and none of anyone linking three in a single day. East Jeju buses thin out and taxis get hard to find after 18:00.
The government office opens at night in summer
From May to October, Jeju-mok Government Office opens again from 18:00 to 21:00 and it is free, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The daytime visit is ₩1,500 and the last entry is 17:30. This is where the episode 8 poetry contest was filmed, in front of Yeonhuidang.
Watch out for the sales pitch at Seongeup
Some buildings signed as part of the folk village are privately run shops that bring visitors in for a house talk and end at a table of health products — powdered larvae, horse-oil cream, omija syrup at ₩40,000 a litre. Visitors recorded exactly this in 2026, and reviewers note the no-touting banner at the entrance is not always honoured. The province states that its own official guides do not sell anything, and its free tours run 10:00 to 17:00. If a talk becomes a shop, walk out.
The visitors really did arrive
The tourism board counted vehicle arrivals before and after the drama: Gimnyeong Beach went from 2,442 to 4,775, up 96 percent, and Jeju-mok Government Office from 198 to 347, up 75 percent. Small numbers by Jeju standards, which tells you these are still quiet places compared with the island's headline sights.

These six Jeju stops are spread across the east, west and Jeju City. Three have official filming evidence; the other three are a drama photo zone or nearby scenic stops. The childhood village set is in Andong, outside Jeju. A practical split:
Day 1 — East Jeju: Seongsan Ilchulbong at sunrise → Seopjikoji → Gimnyeong Beach → Seongeup Folk Village
Day 2 — Jeju City + West: Jeju-mok Government Office and Dongmun Market → Hyeopjae Beach for sunset
Buses connect the stops, but transfers and waiting make a four-stop east Jeju day difficult. If you do not drive, choose Seongsan and Gimnyeong for one day, then Jeju-mok separately; add Seopjikoji or Seongeup only if transport allows.
When to go
The drama’s signature look — yellow canola fields against the sea — peaks from late March to mid-April. Summer gives you the swimming beaches; winter is when the real tangerine harvest happens and the orchards turn orange.
